Jindřich Heisler

(Czech, 1914 – 1953)

In 1938, Heisler became associated with the Czech Surrealist group, which included Toyen and Jindřich Štyrský. He and Štyrský would collaborate during the war on the Surealist work Na jehlách těchto dní [On the Needles of These Days] published clandestinely in 1941 by the illegal “Surrealist Edition” in Prague.
